by Laura Campbell on Wednesday, January 18, 2023

The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse is delighted to welcome Dr Leanne Beagley as Chief Executive Officer.

Leanne will oversee the vital work of the Centre, providing leadership on integrated responses to child sexual abuse and its impacts across the country.

Leanne has extensive clinical, leadership and legal qualifications and experience, holding executive roles within the Department of Health, Victoria, the Western Victoria Primary Health Network and most recently, as CEO of Mental Health Australia. She has made significant contributions to policy change through her leadership and advocacy.

On her appointment, Leanne said:

I am delighted to have been appointed to this important national role. There is nothing more crucial than a safe future for Australia’s children. The opportunity to hear child and adult victims and survivors and based on their experience and advice engage with service providers and partners, researchers, advocates and governments is what I am most looking forward to.

What a great privilege to join this team and have the opportunity to contribute to real change.”

The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse (the National Centre) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established to increase understanding of child sexual abuse, promote effective ways for protecting children, guide best practice responses and pathways to healing for survivors, and reduce the harm it causes.
